  • be a man. (Biblically)

    1 Corinthians 10:31

    Paul Washer notes.

Our life should be one, in Christ. Everything we do, we do because it is the will of God. Even the most menial tasks. Pauls says, "When was the last time you drank a glass of water to the glory of God."

Besaught. As if he is on our forehead. We are supposed to do everything for the glory of God.

What if we wanted to live a day without sin? Well, there has never been a time in the life of  Paul Washer where he loved God as much as he aught to. There has never been a time in the life of Paul Washer where he glorified God as he aught to be glorified. Holiness is to esteem God infinitely above all things. So as men, our goal is to learn and grow in this truth that everything we do is we are to do for the glory of God.

    John 4:34
No way to write that part out. Why do we seem to be so "empty" when we are the fullest, wealthiest, most protect christians ever in America. However, when you go into most Christian book stores deal with how empty Christians are. Why are we so empty? Jesus was hated, pursecuted, and nailed to the cross but never empty. He had set his heart to doing the will of God. Watch his example in (9:05)-(11:36). It is about the olympics. About men who, since they were 6 years old, went without sleep, lives, hobbies, dating, ablsoutley everything for one purpose. All they have ever done is eat and sleep that passion. Then there's us. It not a gold medal around our necks, but for a crown that does not perish. How foolish we are that we can be so quickly drawn away from this great passion.

  • how do I know if I'm saved?

    - Even the most beautiful things, after seen and spoken of much, they don't lose their beauty but we lose our interest. "Praise the Lord, WWJD" Cliches. Seems mundane.
    - What does it mean that Jesus died? Lot of men tell of the horrid nature of the cross. Horrid. That is what most people think of the pain of the Cross. NO...
    - We've missed the point. Was it horrid, yes. Was that beyond description, yes. But thats not the pain of the cross. That's not what set Christ's heart to tremble in the garden.
    - The pain of the cross is that when Christ was on that tree, his own FATHER crushed him, slaughtered him. NOT the romans. God is just, he cannot pass over sin. It must be punished. The response of a holy God to sin is wrath.
    - The perfect, just, fierce, anger and hatred against evil and evil men.
    - For God to forgive and take these evil men, something must be done before that. They must be pardon. God cannot just pardon them. The only thing a just God can do is to kill you in hell. God however is not only just, but loving. But he cannot pass up his justice. God has to be BOTH loving and just. He makes a way to satisfy his own justice. How? The death of the wicked or a substitution for the wicked. God becomes a man and walks on this earth and lives a perfect life. He goes to a tree and on that tree he carries the sins of his people. All the anger and hatred of God and evil that should be poured out on wicked men was poured out on the son of God. Isaiah 53:10 It pleased the Lord to crush Him.
    - Jesus sweat blood in the garden was because he would bear sin and then have his father turn away from him and crush him.

    - On the third day Jesus rises again as a public declaration that Jesus is the son of God. Evidence? The resurrection from the dead.
    - God commands you to repent and believe. Command. Repentance is a change of mind. Salvation is only by faith. We have turned this beautiful doctrine into a religious creed. Repentance is where God opens your eyes to holiness, so that the least sin in your life becomes a vulgar thing that you know should condemn you to hell.
    - Has God ever pressed upon you how vile your sin is?
    - Martin Luther's heart was touched by God and began to understand that ONE sin not one hundred sins would condemn him to hell. And we aren't scared. How many sins did Adam and Eve commit before being kicked out of eden? One.
    - People have no knowledge of their sin and there has been no true working of God on their heart. They have never feared judgement. They never have seen Christ as precious.
    - Invite Bill Gates to your house and give him a piece of ham. He wouldn't do anything. However, there are people in other places where if you gave a person a piece of ham, he would drop down and kiss your feet. Why? Because they were starving, needy, and they were dying.
    - Salvation is a supernatural work of God whereby when the Gospel is preached to you, you are struck by the greatness, majesty, and holiness of God. And you are struck by your sinfulness and wickedness. And you are silenced because you realize that there is not one thing you can offer God to put peace between the both of you. And then you look up to Christ and realize that everything else is DUMB and realize that Jesus Christ died for me.

    - Your confession of faith is ZERO. Demons believe but they are not saved. Where's your evidence? I can say that I know George Bush, but that doesn't mean anything, but if George Bush says that he knows me, I'll be accepted to him.

    - Galatians 6:15

    - Evidence? Are you a new creature. Salvation is God literally does a supernatural work in the Christian taking out the God hating heart (doesn't care about any Christianity) and puts a new heart that desires, knows, and seeks him. Not someone trying to do their best. Salvation is a work of God.

  • i want to be the most feared thing on the face of the earth...

What would the most feared thing on the face of the earth look like? How would it act or react with the world?

Well Paul Washer simply answers the first question easily. "Satan knows that a Godly man of integrity is about the most dangerous thing on the face of the earth."

Adolescence is a glitch. In today's day and age, a transition from boyhood to manhood is interrupted by a word called adolescence. Obviously no teen enjoys being called a boy, yet being called a man doesn't seem appropriate either. So what do teens and adults call these kids? Yes, adolescence. An excuse. A teenager knows that the responsibilities of an adult are numerous and hard.

As adolescence continues to be the excuse of teenagers, we see 21 year old boys and girls.

    boys

Men should be teaching and modeling his children.
Bible never says to lay down your life for the church or even children. But to lay down your life for your wife.

    girls

Dating has become a huge open party. God intended for a man and woman to come together after each person had assumed the responsibilities to become a couple. Responsibilities like laying down your "life" for your future family. Teaching your child the morals of the world. Making sure that your children do not become companion of fools.

Those responsibilities can be compared to a door bouncer at a party. Some people are allowed to enter and some are not. Dating should be limited to only those who can assume the jobs of grown men or women. Without this restriction, any and all people are entering this "party".

In this day and age, dating has turned into

youth are shaped by other youth. and those youths are shaped by media.
By the time a child is 18, he or she has had no serious

youth groups are a joke, statistically. its a place where you get more of the same.
in genesis. A man pursues a wife. Its not true for a wife. She is under her father. Her hand of marriage is in the father's till the father puts it in the hand of the husband.

After high school, men and women are thrown together into college. You have men who's hormones are raging and women who have left the eyes of fathers who has not taught the virtue or knowledge of womanhood.

    A college in America = a meatmarket.

Christian music = we sing just like the world, just not as good.

"what if one of your head comes in with a huge bruised bloody forehead saying that he doesnt know how it happened and that it's been there for years. You decide to follow him one day and you see that he beats his head 10 times on a pole and you go up to him and say that this is no mystery why this is happening to you.

We complain, why do i feel so empty, why dont these relationships work?
Isaiah chapter 1 - we are perfect...

dont even think about a relationship if you cant
when you are able to spiritually lead a person of the opposite sex.

cause you have no right. being her protector. you will lay down your life for her. more than muscle or brawn. If she is horribly transformed you are going nowhere. caring for her economically. you will leave your father and mother.

we want to play with man things when you dont want to be a man.
For women - when your light turns on that there are men out there. You dont start giggling, you dont start writing notes and buy some teen magazine. You get into the bible and you spend years in the discipleship of a godly woman and turn into a woman of virtue.

Book - Future Men. Doesnt totally agree with what it says.

Young women - the world tells you how to dress or how to be beautiful.

one thing about art, an art exhibit in lima.

If your clothing is a frame for your face. It's a God.
If your clothing is a frame for your body, it is sensual and God hates it.

Beauty, elegance, femininity, which is all of God. Sensuality is of hell.

Look at the grunge of how women are dressed in America.
In the past, the Victorian Era, clothing was beautiful.
Now go to now, and look at what women are wearing.
Satan begins to destroy beauty and elegance.
And he begins to lower your standards so you accept anything
and allow you to be treated that is not dignified.

There is a time when a guy would put an arm around a girl and a girl would slap him and say" you dont touch me"
but now the girls are one of the boys and it the work of the devil.

    Horrid example told...

We have lowered the standard. The world can get lower, but Christians can not.
Our generation, we think that in order to be relevent, Jesus said that in order to be relevant we have to be the opposite.

Ask your grandmother if what some of what we wear today to the beach.

    A senerio 3:15
A young man (godly young man) with godly fiance. The young man goes to paul crying. Saying that they desire a walk with christ. Said that when they get alone, they get too far and it happens over and over again and they feel like it will destroy their relationship. The counselors tell them to pray, struggle through this. Paul calls the counselors idiots.

Paul then asks the young man if he was more spiritual than him. Paul gives many examples, that he has preached to thousands of people, has been chased by terrorists in the jungle for christ, and the young man says no that the young man is not more spiritual than paul. then paul asks, " then why are you doing something that i'd never do"

If its dangerous, almost unthinkable for paul to be with another person who is not his wife, why isnt it the same for us?

  • here we are again

    Back to square one. Why...

Today I stayed after school with my friend to discuss our problem. You see, as a Christian, dating means marriage. Apparently my friend had ignored that part along with several other important details that every high school Christian should follow.

  • while reading

Currently I am reading Great Expectations by Charles Dickens. This book showed me why Dickens is so famous. However, no matter how great the story is, I couldn't stop connected certain parts of the story with what Jesus had done for me. One very moving quote came from deep into the story.

"Before I could answer (if I could have answered so difficult a question at all), she repeated, "Love her, love her, love her! If she favours you, love her. If she wounds you, love her. If she tears your heart to pieces – and as it gets older and stronger, it will tear deeper – love her, love her, love her!""

Throughout the whole book an old rich woman is telling young Mr. Pip to love the old woman's daughter (Estella). This rich woman however, had been known to be crazy ever since she had been betrayed by her husband on their wedding day. It is known by the boy that the rich woman is probably tricking young Pip to fall in love with the daughter first and then feel the old woman's pain when the daughter marries another man.

Nevertheless, after I read that quote (above) I felt as if it was God talking to Jesus. I felt that God was saying to Jesus that Jesus must love us (humans) NO MATTER WHAT. I was reminded how Jesus still loves us even though we may want and love other things.

Reading through Mr. Pip's point of view, I saw how painful it was to see the person he loved so much, give him endless misery.
